Why we love love songs

Oh, look what you’ve done You’ve made a fool of everyone Oh well, it seems like such fun Until you lose what you had won…the lyrics from the Jet song still resonate as an adult. Every line from the song connects with me as they did when I was a teenager.
That’s the beauty of love songs and the reason why so many get caught in the emotions of some great songs, and even truly sentimental mush. Listening to songs in general is therapeutic for the soul and for one’s sanity. The melody, the bass, the lyrics lets everyone zone in to a private realm that only the listener is in.
A song that I want to share is The Moon Song from the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s singer, Karen O. The acoustic guitar and her soft, heavenly voice are an unexpected treat from a singer known for her “punk” genre. The Moon Song was first heard in the movie “Her” breathlessly sung by the gorgeous Scarlett Johansson accompanied by Joaquin Phoenix’s on the ukulele http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pIBaV6oxZwc. The lyrics are so simple and sweet that you feel transported a million miles away, in other words, moonstruck. Very nice. – Ida xx
