  • Blended Smoothie

Why a blended smoothie? Because there’s no need for heat or cooking. You only need a power socket and a trusty ol’ blender.

You can create a beautiful concoction with strawberries, mangoes, oranges, bananas, and even honeydew. My favourite is an avocado milkshake which I top with fresh corn.

For health, replace milk with soy milk and white sugar with brown sugar or honey. Most of the time though, you don’t need any additional sweetener.

  • Fruity Yoghurt Bowl

A fruity yoghurt bowl can be a solid meal to keep you full and energized for a busy day. Dice your pineapples, apples, pears and toss them into your yoghurt bowl. I would recommend Greek Yoghurt, and the brand ‘Farmer’s Union’ as its creamy texture is appetizing, unlike the usual chunky natural yoghurt. As I’m always rushing, I just add grapes to my yoghurt.

  • Soya Milk with Grass Jelly

Yes, this can be homemade as well. A glass of soya milk with Grass Jelly is a fast way to keep you satisfied in the morning, or before the next meal. Chop up or push grass jelly through a grater before adding them to your soya milk. Grass Jelly is available in supermarkets in tubs and tubes.

  • Sweet Potato with Peanut Butter

A wonderful snack as peanut butter is a perfect source of protein and as a topping on sweet potato, you get a low G.I. high nutrition snack. You may choose to steam your sweet potato, then toast or grill it, as you like.
