Live life to the fullest

The song, If I Die Young by The Band Perry –
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NJqUN9TClM – brings to mind the famous lines of Pulitzer Prize winning poet, Edna St. Vincent Millay:
My candle burns at both ends;
It will not last the night;
But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends—
It gives a lovely light!
Published in 1920, it celebrates NOW just like a happily-dancing Snoopy. It is all about enjoying the moment, echoing the Perry siblings’ no-regrets lyrics almost a century later.
The sharp knife of a short life, well
I’ve had just enough time
So put on your best boys and I’ll wear my pearls
In Singapore, complaining is a favourite diversion, perhaps a reflection of our inability to find joy in the positives. Quit the soul-sucking griping and go sit on a bench in a park to marvel at being alive and well enough to be outdoors. It’s the best antidote for anxiety and anger.
Even worry-wart Charlie Brown can kick up his heels and let go.
