Hua Hin honeymoon

| On 29, Jan 2015

I got married in April this year but was so busy at work, I postponed my honeymoon until November when I could use the weekend to take a five-day break.

Morroco would have been my ideal vacation spot, but with little time, I could only go somewhere near. Having done Bali, Koh Samui, and Krabi multiple times, I knew what I wanted – serene morning yoga sessions, great breakfasts and lazy hours by the pool. Hence, avoiding wailing kids was my number one criteria, so I decided on Hua Hin inspired by a colleague who had enjoyed endless massages and horse riding on the beach.

Having enjoyed my stay at the Hôtel De La Paix in Siem Reap with its  minimalist décor and subtle French colonial style, I was thrilled to discover a Hôtel De La Paix in Hua Hin.

It was our first time on Scoot and to our disappointment, our departure was delayed by over three hours. We literally were made to disembark from the plane after waiting over one hour. As a result, we arrived in Bangkok after 10pm and missed the last bus to Hua Hin.

Located in the heart of Cha Am, close to the premier “Thai Riviera’ beach resort of Hua Hin, on the sunrise side of the Gulf of Thailand, Hôtel De La Paix was just the restful respite I yearned for. Despite some mixed reviews on TripAdvisor, the hotel had everything I wanted in a holiday resort.

From the stately façade to the grand staircase, it was all typical Hôtel De La Paix with soothing water features and chic furnishings.

Our deluxe room on the ground floor, right next to the pool, was spacious and contained all the necessary amenities including the latest Apple TV, much appreciated by my geek husband.
