The heart is one of the most vital organs in the human body – if there is no heart, there is no you, literally. In order to have a healthy heart, you have got to be leading a healthy lifestyle. Let me share some tips on how you can improve your heart health.

1.) Exercise, exercise, exercise. Yes, you’ve heard it time and again but people seem to ignore the fact that exercise can help your body in so many ways! Set aside 30 minutes of your time everyday to do a simple workout routine. It does not have to be vigorous, just moderate.

2.) Quit smoking – easier said than done but if there’s a will, there’s a way am i right? After a year of giving up smoking, your chances of getting a heart attack falls to about half that of a smoker.

3.) Stay in shape. Being overweight increases your risk of heart diseases. Eat moderately – be sure to include fruits and vegetables in your daily diet.

4.) Say goodbye to salt. Salt increases your blood pressure and it leads to lots of heart problems. Be sure to cut down the amount of salt you add into your cooking – or better still cut it off completely.

5.) Oily fish fiesta. Eat oily fish at least twice a week – mackerel, sardine, tuna, salmon are high in omega-3 fats which helps protect against heart diseases.

Change doesn’t occur overnight, so be sure to work towards changing your habits to lead a healthier lifestyle. Good luck and stay healthy! :)
