DIANA OTHMAN understands the pain of playing the waiting game. You know how it is – your laptop needs fixing and you have nothing to do but twiddle your thumbs and zone out. Well, here’s the sweet deal.
How about getting the cracked screen of your tablet or phone replaced while enjoying coffee and a smooth slice of Cat & the Fiddle cheesecake at Geek Cafe?
This new café doubles up as an electronic accessories shop and repair centre. To align with their services, the café provides barista and tech repair training. Owners Alex Tan and Daniel Tay shared with us that they had their café concept for the longest time but it took them awhile to get the resources to make the café a reality.
Feel at home when you step into the cozy café with its welcoming rich coffee aroma. While you shop for electronic accessories, treat yourself to cheesecake created by acclaimed patissier Daniel Tay. His Cat & the Fiddle cheesecakes (order online) have had excellent reviews. Of the three collection centres, one is Geek Café!
Being a huge strawberry fan, I decided on the Queen of Hearts cheesecake ($5.20 a slice). With a thick layer of strawberry jam on melt-in-the-mouth cream cheese and a delicious golden crust base, it was definitely heavenly. I could have eaten the whole cake by myself!
