Never judge a spa by its cover – A hidden treasure on the east side, g.spa sits in an old, badminton hall that, from outside, looks deserted but enter, and you’re ensconced in 24,300 sq ft of pure relaxation and luxury.

As Singapore’s largest indoor spa, g.spa provides a wide array of facilities and treatments that will leave you feeling pampered and completely relaxed. With 13 treatment rooms and 33 treatment beds, g.spa provides guests with an endless supply of “me time” or even “we time”.

The mega-spa is modeled after a rainforest. With cushy reclining armchairs and water features littered all around, you can’t help but feel the calm energy of nature – even when it’s man-made. Relax in the hot/cold pools or sweat it out in the steam rooms. When you sign up for a massage, you enjoy all these facilities as well as complimentary access to the buffet and bar.

After a long day at work, release the tension from the day at g.spa. Try one of their signature treatments like G Harmony that promises to restore balance to the mind, body and soul.

I was treated to the Gateway to Vitality massage ($148) and it was heavenly. The masseuse was quick to assess the tension in my shoulders and used aromatherapy massage oils to loosen my muscles and stimulate circulation. She customized the massage by focusing on specific muscle groups that she felt needed extra attention. After 60 minutes of kneading away my knots, she ended off the massage by twisting me into pretzel-like positions to stretch out my back and my muscles. I left the therapy room feeling completely supple, albeit slightly dazed from my little snooze.

“My skin’s been going crazy lately and the Decléor facial helped to calm and clear my skin up”, said Amelie, my fellow medhatter. She opted for a facial instead of a massage, wanting to try the Decléor Aromatherapy Facial Treatment ($158). The double mask method helped to relax and nourish while treating her problem areas.
