Difference between BB and CC creams

Despite being a certified makeup junkie, even I sometimes cannot keep up with all the new products flooding the market. BB or CC creams? I’m pretty sure some of you are just as confused as I am.
My confusion led to an intense shopping spree in Robinsons beauty department where I bought BB and CC creams from various brands to test. The sweet salesgirl at Bobbi Brown spent forever trying to answer my barrage of questions and here is what I learnt:
BB cream typically has more than one benefit. It covers imperfections and evens skin tone; moisturizes and helps to reduce the appearance of wrinkles; brightens dull skin instantly and over time; and contains SPF to protect skin against damaging UVA/UVB rays.
CC creams are more of a colour corrector, as the name suggests. The colour-correcting pigments instantly brighten sallow, dull skin and reduce redness. While it does usually include SPF, it does not provide coverage. Therefore, after applying CC cream, you would still need to finish off with foundation or a powder.
